A Tradition Over Twenty Years in the Making
The story of Olio di Nonno Tullio is not simply the chronicle of a farm, but the tale of a family that has always had olive oil in its blood. It all began with Nonno Tullio - a man of iron will - who purchased a centuries-old olive grove at the foot of the Gran Sasso and harvested the first olives, forging an unbreakable bond with this land.
The business is guided today by Dott. Delfino Giuseppe, known to all of us as "Peppe", driven by a deep love for the land and the desire to preserve the ancient farming knowledge of our territory. For over twenty years we have devoted ourselves to the care of our groves with the same attention as ever. From pruning to harvest, through to extraction at the mill, we personally oversee every stage of production to guarantee a 100% Italian EVO oil from exclusively native varieties.

Our Varieties
Our olives come from a blend of native Abruzzo cultivars carefully selected for their distinct character:
Gentile dell'Aquila
Our most prized cultivar and the backbone of our production. Exceptionally rich in polyphenols, it yields a deeply aromatic oil with intense and persistent notes.
Rustica
A robust and productive variety that contributes body and structure to the blend with bold, characteristic notes.
Dritta
A typical Abruzzo cultivar with a high oil yield, bringing balance and softness to the organoleptic profile.
Moraiolo
A small-fruited, dense-fleshed cultivar that lends the blend pleasant herbaceous notes and a lingering bitter-peppery finish.
Intosso
Primarily a table olive, yet it produces an oil of great elegance: harmonious, non-aggressive aromas reminiscent of fresh-cut grass, artichoke and green tomato.
Our Oil
The organoleptic and chemical characteristics of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil stem from the blend harvested across our different varieties: a natural balance that year after year expresses the authentic character of our territory. We are also selecting single-variety oils from Gentile dell'Aquila - the most aromatic and polyphenol-rich cultivar - and from Intosso, whose harmonious flavour and fragrance notes are truly unique.

Our Territory
We cultivate our centuries-old olive trees at the foot of Gran Sasso, within the territory of the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park — the mountains that gave the park its name.
The Tirino Valley faces east: this morphology allows our centuries-old olive trees to receive the right amount of sunlight throughout the day. The mountains closing the valley to the north shelter the trees from the cold winds off the Gran Sasso massif, creating a unique microclimate. Our olive groves sit at high altitude: at these elevations, the olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae), the main olive pest, cannot complete its life cycle. We apply no pesticide treatments whatsoever — nature itself protects our fruit. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is entirely natural.

Our Packaging
We choose bag-in-box over traditional tin cans for one precise reason: as the inner bag empties it collapses under vacuum, so the oil never comes into contact with air. Organoleptic properties — aroma, fruitiness, polyphenols — stay perfectly intact from the very first pour to the very last. Easy to use, hygienic, and respectful of the oil's quality.

5 LCertifications & Awards
The quality of our EVO oil is recognised well beyond Abruzzo. In 2024 we participated in the XVIII Olio Capitale Competition in Trieste - an international showcase for top-quality extra virgin olive oils - receiving an O.N.A.O.O. organoleptic evaluation with a score of 78: light fruity, with balanced bitter and peppery notes.
